ConceptDraw MindWave

CS Odessa's ConceptDraw MindWave is a no-charge gadget that facilitates mind mapping and brainstorming in Google Wave. MindWave lets other invited Wave participants collaborate in real-time using a mind map. Information contained in the MindWave mind map is stored per wave within Google Wave, this makes a great storage area that can be accessed by all participants later on.

You need to be Google Wave member to use the ConceptDraw MindWave gadget. Google Wave members can view a sample mind map here.

How to Install ConceptDraw MindWave

To install ConceptDraw MindWave click here.

Install ConceptDraw MindWave into the right most panel of the Wave.

To get started with a mapping session create new wave via “New Wave” button in the middle pane, then in the right-hand panel, on the first line type the main topic name of your map. Then click on the green light bulb icon. A mind map will be inserted into the frame.

Now you can invite others to collaborate with you, by using the plus sign at the top of the wave. As people type content into the map their name will appear in the area they are typing. Once they hit “Enter” the contents of what they typed will immediately appear.

The playback function built into Google Wave is an excellent tool to see how a map was sequentially constructed and who added what content. This is a great way for new participants to your map to familiarize themselves with the content.

Maps built by using ConceptDraw MindWave may be downloaded to desktop ConceptDraw MINDMAP for Mac OS X or Windows, where it can be further developed and used.
