To store information about objects in ConceptDraw you can use Custom Properties of an object. For example, if you have a catalog of some goods, in Custom Properties you can store such information as price, size, type, whether these goods are in stock now, and lots of other information.

You can set Custom Properties for an object via Define Custom Properties dialog. To open this dialog use menu Format\Custom Properties....

If you created a new object without any custom properties but you want to define ones now, see the next message:

Just press Yes and Define Custom Properties dialog will appear.

First, you need to enter the name of the property you want to add into Label box. Then you need to define the property type in Type list. It can be String for text data, Number for numbers, Fixed list for data invariable list and Variable list if you need to change the list of data about your object. Also you have Boolean type to define, for example, whether this type of goods is in stock now, and Color for color properties.

To create a new property press New at the bottom of Define Custom Properties dialog.

When all the required properties have been created you can enter data about your object properties into Value box. Also you can type prompts in Prompt box.

If you need to make a property invisible just tick in Invisible box. If you need to enter a new Value for a property when opening Custom Properties of an object, tick in Verify box. It can be very useful if you are experimenting with something and you need to save new results.

If an object has Custom Properties they will be seen in Custom Properties dialog. To open it left-click on the object and select Custom Properties from the context menu. The following dialog will appear:

To return to editing the properties press Define... at the bottom of the dialog.

Also you can define Custom Properties using object tables.
