Web Structure Scanner

This Wizard is similar to the Web Site Mapper but it will help you to find out the file structure of the existing web site for its further use in ConceptDraw WebWave.

To start the wizard in the section Web in Template Gallery choose the template Web Site Structure Scanner.

To create a document with the file structure in the address field of the wizard dialog you need to specify the URL of the web site for which you need the structure. Note: You must use only FTP protocol, or direct URL without http://. For example: www.google.com

Besides, pressing Browse you can open the default Internet-browser in your system in order to find the needed web site using Google search server. After the web site has been found just copy its URL to the wizard address field.

The given wizard features several different settings for work, which you can change by pressing the button Settings in the wizard dialog.

On the tab Scan you can specify the depth of the web site scanning to create a file structure. I.e. if you need to create a web site structure that contains only the main directory and it's subdirectories, then you need to set the scanning depth equal to 2. Also on this tab, you can specify the login and the password in case you need ones to get to the web site, which you need to scan. This data can be saved, if you want, but it is not saved by default for safety.

On the tab Layout you can choose the label for an objects in the structure – its address or its title. In the part Shape size, you can choose the sizes for types of objects in the structure, such as the objects of the first level (Root), of the second, the third and all the consequent levels. Objects in the structure can be zoomed in according to your choice. This will allow you to easier understand the created file structure. In the part Layout, you can choose a template to be used for formatting the file structure. For this just press the button with the icon of the layout you need.

On the tab Types, you can specify the types of files to be added to the structure. You can choose from numerous file types, or, if you need to create a full file structure with all the files included choose the item Generic *.*

After all the scanning parameters have been set, you can see all the settings displayed in the wizard main window. To get the file structure of the chosen web site just press OK and you will get a wonderful ConceptDraw WebWave document.
