How to Share Your Mind Maps With Others

Is it possible to share mind maps created with ConceptDraw MINDMAP with those, who use other mind mapping applications? This is important because mind mapping always means some processes of collaboration.

You can freely exchange your mind maps with any software for mind mapping which supports MindManager's .mmap format.

  1. ConceptDraw MINDMAP allows you to open *.mmap file format: File → Import → MindManager Map
  2. ConceptDraw MINDMAP allows you to save your mind maps in *.mmap file format: File → Export → MindManager Map
Result: Mind map used to regular, in-person communication with the work group can be freely created and managed in ConceptDraw MINDMAP.

How to Perform Presentations in ConceptDraw MINDMAP without Exporting to Other Applications

ConceptDraw MINDMAP offers a set of tools allowing you to create presentations from a map. With one just click, you can generate a slide show. You can build multiple presentations and store them in a single map.

Our suggestion is to use the Presentation Mode of ConceptDraw MINDMAP to perform your presentation to an audience.

  1. Run Presentation Mode by pressing F5
  2. Slides will appear with animation. Navigate the slides using the arrow keys or mouse clicks.
  3. If you want to detract attention from your MINDMAP presentation while speaking, just choose the “Darken” or “Lighten” command in the context menu to darken or lighten what is being shown on the screen. To continue the presentation, simply click your mouse
  4. If you want to show a specific slide, choose it from the list in the context menu
  5. If you want edit your map during a presentation switch Presentation Mode to Full Screen mode. (Shift F5). Make the necessary edits,  then press the “Start Presentation from the Slide” button on the selected slide in the Slide Navigator.
Result: Your audience will be impressed by your mind map presentation.

How to Quickly Make a Project from a Mind Map

You can easily view your project task mind map as a Gantt chart. You can do this by opening your map in ConceptDraw PROJECT. This way you are switching between views without creating extra files — working with the same file in both programs.

  1. In ConceptDraw MINDMAP you should click the Open in PROJECT button open in project button. If you are using Windows, you can find it on the Home tab. Macintosh users can see it on the Main Toolbar.
  2. Press “Yes” in the Save dialog box that appears.
  3. Your file will be opened in ConceptDraw PROJECT. The relationships will be displayed as task links. The Topic Data displays as projects hierarchy and information on resources allocation.
Result:i You can now work with the same file in both ConceptDraw MINDMAP and ConceptDraw PROJECT.
