Two weeks ago I introduced to you our new product Brainstorm Lite. By now beta test have been finished and changes have been made and the final version is here. Download Brainstorm Lite if you are already aware of it, or read the detailed description bellow and in my previous post.

Product description

Brainstorm Lite is very restrictive brainstorming application that forces you to follow some core brainstorming rules thus achieving better results in less time.

The software tracks brainstorming time and prohibits the user from entering new ideas after the time is up. This is used to inspire creativity because everyone knows how much time is left to generate new ideas and that there remains no extra time.

Since suspending from judgments is the key to success of your brainstorming session, the Brainstorm Lite prevents deleting or even editing any ideas while session is going. This allows even the random ideas pass to analysis stage at which they often appear to be the best. However once the session is finished, the application transforms into simple text editor, meant for spellchecking or simple editing.

Brainstorm Lite is compatible with most of mind mapping or outlining software via OPML format. Also it allows saving the results in TXT and RTF to work over them in text editor.

License: Brainstorm Lite is free as any other Lab product.
System requirements: Mac OS X 10.4 and later.

Is this free or a demo? What are the sys requirements, 10.4 or later, or what? This is basic info that is not available.

Thanks for this application. One request: Let me change font size. Ideas are not easily readable when projected with a beamer.

    Thanks again for your efforts

Please remove the Comic Sans font… or at least make a fontchooser available. :)

  5. Klaus Brosius on March 23, 2007 5:50 pm

This is a great application. Thank You!!! But if the font “comic sans” is disabled (like on my computer) there will be no window opened and the program seems not working. Should be fixed!!

We will add the ability to set the font but only on Monday

Any plans for a Windows/Web platform version?

  9. AlexTG on March 26, 2007 8:41 pm

Maybe, it depends only on users feedbacks.

This seems to be a very good app. What worries me is what kind of feedback from users can you get to decide to make a Windows version, if there is no Windows version? You are going to get only feedback from Mac users.

Nice tool. Text export doesn’t work correctly with german characters like ä ö ü ß, something like √§ appears instead. This does not happen in mind map export.

The other day I stumbled accross a free and cool brainstorming utility and free I might add. It works supported on the view from permutating various facets of your issue into a list and then the website spins fresh permutation lists settled on the list, that in turn surfaces facets you would never, if ever think of. After finding it, I utilize it much, because it does work conceptually pretty advantageously. http://brainstorming.purchasepedia.com

I am sure this is good tool. An online application that allows to perform brainstorm rounds - http://dostorm.com/
It allows to write suggestions, work on round in team, expand any suggestion to new brainstorm round.
