How to Create a SIPOC Diagram

SIPOC diagram (suppliers, inputs, process, outputs, customers) is a visual tool for displaying a business process from beginning to end. SIPOC diagrams are useful for focusing a discussion and helping team members agree upon a common language and understanding of a process for continuous improvement. You can create SIPOC Diagrams using the Business Process Mapping solution. This solution is a paid add-on to ConceptDraw DIAGRAM, that provides individuals with extensive new libraries, templates and samples to assist in a business process mapping.

1. Run ConceptDraw DIAGRAM.
2. Find the Business Process Mapping solution in the Slutions panel.
3. Select the SIPOC Diagram template. Double-click to open it.

4. Your workspace is a chart with five columns. By dragging control dots you can regulate the column's width.

5. Now, you should add fill the columns. Click on a single column to select it then type your text:
   • Begin with the process. Map it in four to five high level steps.
   • Identify the outputs of this process.
   • Identify the customers that will receive the outputs of this process.
   • Identify the inputs required for the process to function properly.
   • Identify the suppliers of the inputs that are required by the process.
6. Callout hints will help you to fill the Template properly.
7. After the template is filled, no more hints are needed. Hide them using the Action button menu.
8. Finally, you can export your drawing as MS PowerPoint and Adobe PDF files using Export options from the File menu.
