How to Draw a Divided Bar Chart

A divided bar chart is used for visual presentation and comparison of similar data. The divided bar is a rectangle divided into parts. The length of each part is proportional to the value of the data that it represents. It is useful to show how data categories are proportionally distributed within the total value. Divided bar charts are widely used for comparison in marketing presentations. For example, to show a visual comparison of the profitability in a business, or to represent the proportion of some components. The ability to draw a divided bar graph using ConceptDraw DIAGRAM is delivered by Divided Bar Diagrams solution which can be found in the Statistical Charts section of ConceptDraw Solutions.

1. Run ConceptDraw DIAGRAM.
2. Find the Divided Bar Diagrams item in the Solutions panel.
3. Click the library preview to open it in the Library panel.
4. Add the divided bar chart to the document by dragging it from the library to the drawing page.

5. To make changes in your chart use the Action button menu. To open the menu select an object and click the  button in the upper right corner of the object.

6. Select the segment of the divided bar graph. Enter the segment value and segment width will be automatically changed.

7. You can change segment color using the Format panel. Select a segment, then select a Fill color. The changes will be automatically distributed to the Legend table.

Result: A divided bar chart gives you a visual representation of the collected information.
