Stemless funnel

The stemless funnel is used primarily for hot filtrations, in which a hot solvent is filtered before it can cool and allow the solute to crystallize. Using the funnel with a stem could allow crystals to form inside the stem, which makes them impossible to retrieve and they can clog the funnel. [chem.wisc.edu/areas/organic/orglab/equip/stemless.htm]
