ERD Symbols and Meanings

Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) is a popular software engineering tool for database modeling and illustration the logical structure of databases, which uses one of two notations - Chen's or Crow’s Foot. Crow's foot notation is effective when used in software engineering, information engineering, structured systems analysis and design. Each of these notations applies its own set of ERD symbols. Crow's foot diagrams use boxes to represent entities and lines between these boxes to show relationships. Varied shapes at the ends of lines depict the cardinality of a given relationship. Chen's ERD notation is more detailed way to represent entities and relationships. ConceptDraw DIAGRAM application enhanced with all-inclusive Entity-Relationship Diagram (ERD) solution allows design professional ER diagrams with Chen's or Crow’s Foot notation on your choice. It contains the full set of ready-to-use standardized ERD symbols and meanings helpful for quickly drawing, collection of predesigned ERD samples, examples and templates. ConceptDraw Pro is a great alternative to Visio for Mac users as it offers more features and can easily handle the most demanding professional needs.

"E-HR is a function of HR that is concerned with the use, management, and regulation of electronic information and processes within an organization.
E-HR is different from E-HRM (Electronic Human Resource Management) and HRIS (Human Resource Information System) which are uses of technology. More specifically, E-HRM is a system that allows management and employees access to human resource related information and services through an organization's intranet or web portal. HRIS refers to enterprise resource planning software that streamlines human resource functions such as payroll.
In contrast, E-HR is a function of human resources that requires cross-functional knowledge and collaboration between multiple departments, most notably human resources and information technology." [Electronic human resources. Wikipedia]

"A pitch is an outdoor playing area for various sports. The term is used in British and Australian English; the comparable term in American English is playing field. In most sports, the official technical term is field of play, although this is not regularly used by those outside of refereeing/ umpiring circles.
In the sport of cricket, the cricket pitch refers not to the entire field of play, but to the section of the field on which batting and bowling take place in the centre of the field. The pitch is prepared differently to the rest of the field, to provide a harder surface for bowling.
A pitch is often a regulation space, as in an association football pitch." [Pitch (sports field). Wikipedia]

"Road transport (British English) or road transportation (American English) is the transport of passengers or goods on roads. ...
Transportation.
Transport on roads can be roughly grouped into the transportation of goods and transportation of people. In many countries licencing requirements and safety regulations ensure a separation of the two industries.
The nature of road transportation of goods depends, apart from the degree of development of the local infrastructure, on the distance the goods are transported by road, the weight and volume of the individual shipment, and the type of goods transported. For short distances and light, small shipments a van or pickup truck may be used. For large shipments even if less than a full truckload a truck is more appropriate. In some countries cargo is transported by road in horse-drawn carriages, donkey carts or other non-motorized mode. Delivery services are sometimes considered a separate category from cargo transport. In many places fast food is transported on roads by various types of vehicles. For inner city delivery of small packages and documents bike couriers are quite common.
People are transported on roads either in individual cars or automobiles, or in mass transit by bus or coach. Special modes of individual transport by road like rickshaws or velotaxis may also be locally available." [Road transport. Wikipedia]
